East Village celebrate 3 years of welcoming the world’s most renowned djs and some of London’s finest promoters to their small but perfectly formed spot in Shoreditch. On Sat Feb 12th they have put together another all star line-up that perfectly fits their continued booking of the best talent past, present and future.
In the house basement they welcome back Karizma one of America’s leading producer/djs whose appeal crosses the borders of the house community with his ability to move between genres effortlessly. In support making his EV debut is Berlin dj/producer Andre Lodemann who is already firmly established through his own productions plus killer remixes for the likes of Joey Negro and Omar, this is one name you’ll be hearing plenty of in 2011. Also working the ace basement sound system is EV resident Stuart Patterson who has constantly kept the music standards high while djing alongside the world’s biggest djs at the club. Warming up the room in fine deep house fashion is Jimmy P from the Faith fanzine collective (still the best house fanzine in the world without doubt).
Upstairs in the new look lounge Los Charly’s Orchestra play a full live set, a 7 piece latino collective based around 2 Venezuelan producers delivering a slick but rockin’ live disco/soul/house/funk blend obviously infused with loads of latin flavour. Djs upstairs include London legend Ashely Beedle whose production heritage is unrivalled in London and is a true dj’s dj who can play killer reggae, house, soul or disco sets from his vast collection, expect a mix of it all from the man on the night. King of the pop edit (or ace underground house producer depending on what hat he has on that day) Leo Zero like Mr Beedle is another with a huge collection from across the board so expect afro, new wave, wonky disco and balearic gems from him. Orin Walters from Bugz in the Attic brings his future soul mix to add to the potent his upstairs with Scottie J opening up proceedings with a mellow dub and roots reggae selection.
A true music lovers line-up not to be missed. We’re opening the doors early at 8pm for this one and advance invites are recommended and we have an all night license until 5am.
